Coverage Years of collection, reference years, and sample sizes
The data was first collected between 2006 and 2008. The data collection period was extended because the initial response rate was unsatisfactory. Subsamples of recipients of early retirement benefits (n=1,765; all aged 60-64) and recipients of disability pension (n=514; of which 448 are aged 50-64) made up a sample of 7,544 respondents.

Stratification if applicable
The sample is stratified with an over-representation of certain groups. Group 1: Recipients of early retirement benefits based on the population of April 1, 2006 and those aged 60-64 as of October 1, 2006 (141,516 people). Group 2: Disability pensioners based on the population as of January 1, 2006 and those aged 18-64 as of October 1, 2006 (245,885 people). Group 3: CRAM-unemployed. The population consists of full-time unemployed (insured and non-insured) receiving unemployment insurance in the second quarter of 2006 (37,462 people). Group 4: AMFORA-activated. The population consists of individuals having been in activation for at least one month in the second quarter of 2006 (116,788 people). Group 5: Recipients of social assistance. The population consists of recipients of social assistance for at least two consecutive months in the last half of 2005 (115,388 people). Group 6: Employed. The population consists of individuals in the register-based employment statistic from November 2004. The register contains employed individuals seeking education, individuals temporarily outside the labour force and unknown (the rest group) (2,963,861 individuals).

Coverage of main and cross-cutting topics
There are questions specifically for unemployed and early retired individuals, plus common questions for all respondents. The survey covers socio-demographic background and occupational status for the respondent and the respondent's partner. For the unemployed: Their own assessment of their chances for obtaining a job and what they do in order to improve their chances of becoming a job, assessment of the work environment at their former job. For the early retired: information about their last job, supplementary income, work environment in last job, what could have made them work longer, did the work place do something to retain them. For the employed: information about employment and work place, how did they get their current job, earlier unemployment, expectation about retirement.

Standardisation
Education coded according to the DUN (Danish Education Nomenclature). Labour market position coded according to the Danish ISCO (DISCO88). Industry coded according to DB03 used in the registries.

Possibility of linkage among databases
Link to register data through personal ID. Survey available through CSSR Open Access beginning in Spring 2013.
