Round 1: Data was collected in 2006, the sample size included 700 business leaders (CEO's, recruiters or owners of a business enterprise). Round 2: Data was collected in 2008, the sample included 520 employed persons between the ages of 50 and 65.

Round 1 (2006) collected data economic and social development, elderly, employment, labour force, labour market, occupational training, population dynamics and social structure. The aim of this study was to evaluate the Austrian enterprises’ strategies and preparations for the ageing employees. For instance, it evaluated how older employees are involved in the working-process, which strategies regional enterprises have and which measures they have taken or will take For Round 2 (2008), data was collected on the elderly, job satisfaction, labour and employment, labour force, labour market, labour supply, occupational training, population dynamics, social structure and unemployment. The aim of the 2008 study was to compare the enterprises’ point of view with the position of the older employees. This study especially analyses the wishes and the reality of older employees in the working world.
