First round in 1997consisted of a random sample of people born in 1920, 1925, 1930, 1940 and 1945 from the CPR-register. The response rate was 70% (5,864 individuals), which was lower among the oldest and those living alone and higher among the younger and those living in good housing. The second round in 2002 had a response rate of 88% among those re-interviewed and 83% overall. In the third round in 2007, the overall response rate was 74%. 7,010 of the 9,633 interviewees had participated in 1997 and/or 2002.

52 and above. In the first round in 1997, the sample was drawn among individuals born in the following years: 1920, 1925, 1930, 1935, 1940, 1945. In 2002, a new cohort of 52-year-olds (1950) were added, and this is also the case in 2007 (1955) and in 2012 (1960)
