Data project

Integrated Database for Labour Market Research

IDA-registret

Summary

Strengths: This database covers the entire Danish population over time, which makes possible to analyse changes in labour market participation. Data further includes information about workplaces, which makes it possible to link information about colleagues and analyse the composition of the workplaces. Weaknesses: There are some breaks in data over time. See the documentation for more information: http://www.dst.dk/da/Statistik/dokumentation/kvalitetsdeklarationer/ida-databasen.aspx

Linkage

Standardisation
From 1996, Statistics Denmark has classified the economic characteristics for the population into socio-economic categories and within these, further by occupational codes according to the DISCO-88 norm, which is a Danish version of the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO).

Possibility of linkage among databases
Data from the IDA database can be linked to other register data available at Statistics Denmark through an encrypted identification key.

Breaks
In 2008, there is a break since the data collection method changed. There is another break in 1996 regarding job designation. This break is caused by the introduction of DISCO 88.
