Summary

Survey carried out in collaboration with the Institute of the Elderly and the Social Services. Elderly people are asked to contribute by filling out the survey to allow the institutions to be aware of their problems and seek solutions.

Data was collected in 2006. Survey carried out in collaboration with the Institute of the Elderly and the Social Services. The sample consisted of the Spanish population aged 65 and over. Out of the 3,537 interviews, 3,507 were effective/completed. There was an oversampling of the oldest old in rural municipalities and a multi-stage stratified sample (municipalities, census tracts, individuals) was used.

Coverage of main and cross-cutting topics
Data on households (membership, cohabitation behaviours), dwellings (equipment and facilities), and individuals (daily personal and social activities, mobility and residential accessibility, family and social relations, social and family care relations, life satisfaction, feelings and beliefs, demographic information – age, sex, civil status, educational level, economic activity, retirement age) are collected in this survey. Tables composed by the essential socio-demographic features (age, sex, educational level, municipality size and ideological position).
